Inspecting your property

WA Insurance Builders have been appointed by your Insurer to inspect the damages that have occurred to your property caused by an insurable event

The Initial inspection

It is important to meet our supervisors on site, as you know your property best, you can point out subtle damages to your property that our supervisor may not otherwise notice when they inspect your property. This ensures the correct scope of works is prepared the first time, eliminating the possible need for reattendance to inspect damages that were missed/not pointed out. The resulting damages from the event are the only areas that will be covered under the claim.

Please note; There may be circumstances where specific repairs are not included in your scope of works, this may be because there is damage to your property that is not covered by your insurance policy. It is important to read your insurance PDS to find out what your policy covers

Scope of Works

The scope of works is a list of items that we will repair in your home to bring it back to pre-loss condition, it is important to read the scope of works issued to you once we receive approval to ensure you are happy with the repair process.

Variations

The initial scope of works may need to be reassessed once the works have commenced, if new information becomes available about the damage that needs to be repaired. Further damages may occur that were unforeseen at the initial inspection causing the need for a variation to be submitted to the insurance company for approval.

Cash Settlements

Should you wish to opt for a cash settlement with your insurer, please be advised if you do not use the appointed builder by the insurer, you will lose the warranty of repairs.

Private Works for Non -Insurable Areas

WA Insurance Builders carry out private works, should you require any additional repairs that are not covered under your insurance claim, feel free to ask us for a private quote. We require a deposit and can carry out additional works at the same time as the claim repairs, should this be required.
